چکیده
Abstract Background Sago palm ( Metroxylon sagu) is an important staple crop in the rural area of Sarawak, Malaysia. The palms grow well rough, swampy peat, from low flooded areas to uplands and acidic neutral soils. Among starch-producing crops, this most productive promising, where it can store a significant amount carbohydrate trunk. Due lack molecular study sago palm, work described here aimed develop markers for identifying M. sagu accessing genetic variations different locations Sarawak. Results Amplified fragment length polymorphism was employed determine between fifteen populations collected three locations: Mukah, Pusa Samarahan. Based on 35,016 polymorphic fragments generated 32 primer combinations, information content (PIC), marker index (MI) resolving power (RP) averaged 0.269, 0.005157 51.52039 per combination, respectively, were obtained, signifying effectiveness accuracy AFLP marker. Mukah showed higher diversity I = 0.428, H 0.232), while lowest 0.367, 0.240). average value Shannon 0.404. AMOVA 99% variation found within population. Mantel test performed with 9999 permutations. A significantly positive correlation r 0.220, p 0.010) observed divergence population (Nei distance) geographical distance. Conclusions Our considered as effective reliable method assess identification sagu. Graphical

Molecular Variability of Celosia argentea Using Amplified Fragment Length Polymorphism (AFLP) Marker
The molecular variability of ten genotypes of Celosia argentea seeds collected from National Institute of Horticultural Research (NIHORT) and National Centre for Genetic Resources and Biotechnology (NACGRAB) germplasms were evaluated using the Amplified Fragment Length Polymorphism (AFLP) marker. The polymorphism of C. argentea was detected within the population using primer mix of AFLP EcoRI +...
متن کاملInvestigation of genetic and morphological variation in the sago palm (Metroxylon sagu; Arecaceae) in Papua New Guinea.
BACKGROUND AND AIMS The genetic and morphological variation in the sago palm (Metroxylon sagu, Arecaceae) in Papua New Guinea (PNG) was investigated. METHODS Amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) was used to investigate the genetic structure of 76 accessions of M. sagu, collected in seven wild and semi-wild stands in PNG. KEY RESULTS An analysis of ten quantitative morphological var...
متن کاملCustomer Magazine Article: Detecting genetic diversity of willow ( Salix spp.) using amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) and microsatellite marker analyses
1 Amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) and microsatellites (simple sequence repeats; SSRs) are useful methods for studying genetic diversity of willow (Salix spp.). AFLP delivers a large number of data points from a single experiment and is a useful method for distinguishing between closely related individuals. SSR markers are very robust tools, and we have identified several markers t...
متن کاملAnalysis of the Genetic Diversity 12 Iranian Damask Rose (Rosa damascena Mill.) Genotypes Using Amplified Fragment Length Polymorphism Markers
In this study, the genetic diversity of 12 Iranian Damask rose (Rosa damascena Mill.) genotypes was studied using amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) markers. Twelve AFLP primer combinations generated 483 polymorphic bands and showed extreme variability and genetic complexity among the studied genotypes. The AFLP analysis revealed a specific amplified fragment for the genotypes collec...
